THE FOURTH KIND ( Olatunde Osunsanmi /2009/US)

one of my best this year !!!!!!!!!!

this film can be great example to deal with the problem of our decade – Reality , the power of camera , truth and fact , and most of them point us to the scientific concept which rule the world now

SANGAM (RAJ KAPOOR /1964 /INDIA)

A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

to me it was as classic as CASABLANCA

choose this scene because it’s reminding me tlike it was stronger version of JLG’s A WOMAN IS A WOMAN!

LA MONDE VIVANT (EUGENE GREEN/2003/FR) A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I feel so lucky that i’ve read about Barthes today .I think we can use what Barthes said to interprete this film . First, it was a minmizing of fairytales by telling a stories like a knights , aprincess, a castle , an orge , a sword , fighting , love , death and reunite , but not using any elements but the story only, so only grand narrative was capturing and we see the relationship of character ,the powers to one another that can replace by another’unit’ like another place and times

and the other thing that the film focus is ‘Words’ in terms of promisess or furthermore in the way they use another vocabulary (like Lion instaed of dog, elephant instead of cat)

so words is the core of the story like literatures the story moving foward with words, not the story it self

i’m not sure that i was right (for both of the film and Barthes) but ‘d like to take note down here about my first glance for this very very great film !

what i like most in the film is Bressonian style of making it was the mixing of children theatre and film from ROBERT BRESSON , but to me it was the greatest method to minimize evey elements of dramatization

IN PRAISE OF LOVE(JEAN LUC GODARD/2001/FR)

IN PRAISE OF LOVE(JEAN LUC GODARD/2001/FR) A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i think i understand only just a half of the whole film ,but eventough lots of things was in vague i still feel the bauty of it

JLG captured love in terms of history , politic , expereinece , literature , poetic ,sounds and image . The first part reminding me PHILIPPE GARREL’s film without a romantic storyline .It’s the part of phrases disperesd in the air

the second part (in colorful video) which often use to represent present time or future now becoming a past a history that run through us . In this part things they said keep repeating like it was said before but in different context . I really loved the way Godard showed us that how to explain love in terms of history , our own history and yes,world history

QUOTE :

We have a project. It relates something of the story of three couples : young , adult, and old . And this something is one of the four moments of love. The meeting , The physical passion , The speration, then the reconciliaion. – IN PRAISE OF LOVE :JEAN LUC GODARD

JANINE ( MAURICE PIALAT /1962/FR) A++++++++++++++++

i’d like to screen it with EVDOKIA(ALEXIS DAMIANOS )and VIVRE SA VIE(JLG) in terms of ‘ BEWARE OF A HOLY WHORE!’

EVDOKIA(ALEXIS DAMIANOS/1971/GREECE) A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i’d like to call this film with the name of Garbriel Garcia Marquez novel ‘ MEMORIES OF MELANCHOLY WHORE’ .to me it was as hurt as , as beauty as , as violence as , Fassbinder’s FOX AND HIS FRIENDS

It was a tragedy film about the whore that fell in love with the soldier . They express their love very strong every scene is abiut a nearly mad in love couple . furthermore the editing of the film is like a horror films with lots of jumpcut and inserted scenes

this is the example of one of the greatest scenes in the film

Cinema Dream, Tokyo Dream (Kiju Yoshida)A++++++++++++++++++++

It was very beautiful documentary about the first cinematographer( the cinematographer of Lumiere’s Bro.) and his relationship with tokyo with cinema .

I love the way the director use the old picture of subject as himself in everywhere the director goes and i love the last scene with japenese umbrella so much.
